Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City began with a Race for the Cure® event in 1994. This year will mark the 22nd anniversary of the signature event. Last year, nearly 18,000 people came together in Kansas City’s largest walk/run to celebrate and honor breast cancer survivors. Through numerous fundraising efforts over the years, Komen Kansas City has invested more than $19 million to support local breast cancer education, screenings and treatment plus national research grants.
