Welcome to our Komen Race for the Cure® team page!
At Willoughby, we all have personal stories about friends or family-members who have been affected by breast cancer. And as much as we hate dealing with it, we are all very diligent about our own exams. In fact, our founder, Ann Willoughby, was diagnosed through an annual mammogram. Thankfully, because of this early detection, she is cancer free today. Her experience was yet another reminder that there is still a long way to go before breast cancer is a disease of the past.
So, when I was approached to join the Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City Board of Directors, we decided this is a perfect cause for Willoughby to get behind. I accepted the position and, along with that, we accepted the challenge to raise funds to support Susan G. Komen® in its efforts to END BREAST CANCER FOREVER.
This will be the first year we are participating and we would love for you to join our team and buzz along! Invite a friend or family member. Let's bring big 'ole swarm of bees to support this important cause.
By joining the Bee Team in the Race, you are playing a part in helping Susan G. Komen® empower women in our community with education, awareness, resources and support.
Will you please join us in this fight by running or walking with the Bee Team in the Race for the Cure on Sunday, August 14 and by making a donation today?
